From 1 September, persons who apply for assisted return after their deadline for leaving the country has expired will receive less financial support. This has been decided by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

The changes in effect from 1 September will particularly affect Iraqi nationals and persons who do not return before their deadline for leaving the country has expired. Families with children in particular will receive less support if they do not apply for assisted return before the deadline for leaving the country has expired.
