Who is UNE? And what do we do?
UNE is a short name for Utlendingsnemnda, or the Immigration Appeals Board in English.
In Norway, we have rules that determine who is allowed to live here. If you are not from Norway, you have to apply for permission to stay. First, you will have to send an application to UDI. If they say no, you can lodge an appeal with UNE. UNE will then reassess your case.
Case Handlers at UNE know all the rules that regulate who is allowed to live here. They also know a lot about the various countries from which people come before applying to live in Norway.
